Julie Locascio was born in Illinois, attended school in Virginia and North Carolina, and currently resides in Washington D.C. She holds a bachelor's degree in foreign affairs and a master's degree in city and regional planning. Ms. Locascio speaks French, Portuguese, and Spanish, and has traveled extensively overseas. She has done research, writing and program work in the fields of environmental management, refugee services, and international development. A passionate environmental activist and human rights advocate, Ms. Locascio currently practices law and defends democracy in Washington, D.C.
Tricks in Captivity is her first novel.
